Vacancy: Part-time/Contract Technical Writer
The Grenada National Training Agency is developing its strategic plan for the period 2027-2030, and is seeking a skilled technical writer to support the documentation and articulation of this process. The Grenada Council for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (GCTVET) is therefore inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the post of Part-time/Contract Technical Writer at the Grenada National Training Agency.
Job Objective
The technical writer works in close collaboration with a lead consultant, who is responsible for facilitating the strategic planning design and stakeholder consultations. The technical writer works along with the technical working group of the NTA and the Strategic Planning Steering Committee to capture, draft, and refine the written outputs of the process — ensuring that the final Strategic Plan is clearly written, professionally presented, and accessible to all intended audiences.
Key Functions and Duties:
- Attend and take detailed notes at strategic planning workshops, working sessions, focus groups, and consultation meetings as scheduled by the lead consultant.
- Synthesise notes, discussion outputs, and consultant-provided frameworks into coherent draft text for the strategic plan document.
- Develop and refine the narrative, structure, and language of the strategic plan across multiple drafts, incorporating feedback from the NTA and the lead consultant.
- Ensure consistency in tone, terminology, and style throughout the document, aligned with the NTA’s voice and the technical and vocational education and training (TVET) sector context.
- Prepare supporting documents as needed, such as executive summaries, section summaries, or plain-language versions of technical content.
- Liaise with the lead consultant and designated NTA staff to align content priorities, timelines, and revision cycles.
- Manage version control and document tracking throughout the drafting process.
What this role does not include
The technical writer is not responsible for leading or facilitating strategic planning sessions, designing the planning methodology, or managing stakeholder consultations. These functions are the responsibility of the lead consultant and technical working group. The writer’s focus is exclusively on written documentation and drafting.
