NTA Participates in Budget 2019 Youth Consultation

The National Training Agency (NTA) had an opportunity to participate in the recent Budget 2019 Youth Consultation held at the National Stadium on September 13, 2018. Marketing and Communications Officer of the National Training Agency, Kay Julien-Gutu delivered a presentation on the NTA and what it does to a captive audience of more than 100 young people.  The presentation, was among several others aimed at providing a focal point for Focus Group discussions.

A major objective of the consultation was to look at ways of reducing unemployment among young people in Grenada, by improving access to Training, Small Business Development, and Agriculture as a business. Participants were broken up into Focus groups to discuss these issues and make recommendations which were shared with the entire grouping at the end of the consultation.  Julien -Gutu was one of the resource persons for the Focus Group discussion on Training Opportunities for Youth in Grenada.

Also addressing the consultation was Prime Minister, Dr. the Right Honourable Keith Mitchell who noted that the real prosperity of a country lies in the education of its people and the development of human resources. He said nothing can take away the power of education while encouraging the young people to avail themselves of the training opportunities available in the country, whether it be a medical doctor or fisherman.

The event was organized by the Ministry of Finance, Planning, Economic and Physical Development under the theme, “Transforming the Economy Through Youth Development”.
